Of mistakes worn well
Left out in the thunderstorm
Accumulating the hard knocks
Weathered and torn
It's ok to be who you are
Mistakes taught lessons
Learned, understood, evaluated
And here, you stand tall
In the midst of a hurricane
Soaking up the ambience
It takes patience and perseverance
To climb those mountains
It takes strength
When you're withered
To blossom once again
Eventually you'll move on
Influenced by no one
Under your own worn skin
No longer controlled by reactions
Subtle
Or densely packed with complexity
Manipulating arch nemesis'
What they fear the most
Being unnoticed, unrecognized,
And you, being unbothered
So sip a Mai Thai
On an auspicious occasion
Letting the breeze
Carry your concerns away
Those old wounds are healed
Cleansed of sorrow
And blessed with knowledge
Walk lighter, hold your head higher
Your heart's sickening grief
Is quite quietly
Immersed in silence
Among the seashells
